Who We Are

Every Sunday morning and during the week, Street Church Ministries sends teams into Trenton and Philadelphia to bring the Word of God and the Love of Christ to those who live on the streets. We meet people wherever they might be held up - behind buildings, in subways, underneath bridges, in cemetaries or in the woods - meeting them on their own turf in an effort to bring church, and the hope of Christ into their lives.

Each time out in the streets is a different experience. One week it might be an evangalistic outreach in the subways to people sleeping under cardboard boxes, the next week we might lead a bible study and share communion with five men underneath a bridge. We sometimes will even hold a one hour-prayer meeting behind a garbage dumpster of a city building with those who live there.

We seek to provide for the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of those we meet. Every Sunday morning we always bring bagged lunches out as well as clothing, (usually socks and underwear which are in short supply). Hygiene and personal care products are brought out periodically as well.

We also supply books and bibles for those who are interested and are desiring a deeper relationship with God. By consistantly sharing the Word of God and developing relationships week in and week out we continue to see the Lord change hearts and change lives. Aside from feeding and clothing hundreds of people, we have seen many genuine commitments to Christ over that last 18 months and have built many friendships with those we have met. Currently three of the men who we have met on the streets are part of the outreach team and join us to share the difference that Jesus has made in their lives. We are also working on a book, written straight out of the heart and mouths of people living on the streets. It will include their stories, thoughts, wisdom, peoms, and testimonies about the way the Lord is working in their lives.
